Rosé de Provence "Corail" 2022 Chateau de Roquefort
The 2022 Rosé de Provence "Corail" is a French rosé from Provence produced by Chateau de Roquefort. It is made from a blend of several grape varieties where we find Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Vermentino and Clairette, most of which come from vines around 30 years old growing in the western part of the Saint Baume massif.
Here, the altitude and the cool microclimate, influenced by sea currents, give the grapes a particular minerality and aromaticity. After harvesting and destemming, only the Grenache and Cinsault grapes are cold macerated, fermentation is spontaneous and carried out in stainless steel, while the final ageing lasts six months in stainless steel in contact with the lees.
The Rosé de Provence "Corail" Chateau de Roquefort shows a light pink colour, reminiscent of coral. The nose expresses hints of citrus and fruit, then veers towards a recall to wild rose notes. The taste is very smooth and drinkable, fresh and mineral. A really interesting rosé wine, perfect to be enjoyed with fish dishes and fresh cheese boards.
