Rosso del Soprano 2019 Palari
Rosso del Soprano 2019 from Palari winery is an elegant, fresh and fruity Sicilian red wine. This wine comes from vineyards overlooking the Strait of Messina, in the northeastern tip of Sicily. It is a wine that fully expresses the character of its terroir, made from a blend of traditional grapes: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Nocera and Galatena. Short aging in wood gives the wine maturity and harmony, while maintaining freshness and fruity fragrance.
The Palari winery, located in the magnificent hillside area of Santo Stefano Briga, manages 7 hectares of vineyards overlooking the sea of the Strait of Messina. The estate has revitalized the historic Faro appellation, enhancing the potential of the area and cultivating native grape varieties. The Mediterranean climate, characterized by constant sea breezes, and sandy soils help produce grapes of high quality and aromatic concentration.
After harvest, fermentations take place at a controlled temperature with indigenous yeasts. The wine matures for a period ranging from 6 to 12 months in second-passage barriques. This process preserves the integrity of the wine, which is bottled without clarification or filtration, completing bottle aging before release.
In the glass, Rosso del Soprano 2019 shows a ruby red color. On the nose, it offers aromas of small red berries, berry jam, delicate floral and spicy nuances. On the palate, the wine is harmonious and enveloping, with a fine tannic texture and delicate, fragrant fruit. The finish is long, savory and pleasantly refreshing, making it a perfect interpreter of the marine and Mediterranean terroir.
Ideal with meat dishes, game and aged cheeses, Rosso del Soprano is also excellent with traditional Sicilian dishes. Its freshness and complexity make it a versatile and refined accompaniment.
