Rum Zacapa 23 Anni Solera Gran Reserva
Rum Zacapa 23 Anni Solera Gran Reserva is a premium rum produced in Guatemala by the Zacapa distillery, using the Solera method. This method involves blending rums of different ages stored in oak barrels previously used for wine to create a high-quality product with great aromatic complexity.
The production process of Rum Zacapa 23 Anni Solera Gran Reserva begins with the selection of the best sugar canes, grown in the fertile Quetzaltenango Valley, known for its hot and humid climate. After harvesting, the canes are pressed to extract the juice, which is then fermented to produce the base alcohol.
The alcohol is then distilled using a multiple-column, low-pressure distillation process, resulting in a high-quality distillate with great aromatic purity. Next, the rum is aged using the Solera method, which is a blending of rums of different ages stored in American, Spanish and French oak barrels previously used for wine.
Rum Zacapa 23 Anni Solera Gran Reserva has a dark amber color with golden highlights. On the nose, there are notes of vanilla, chocolate, caramel, dried fruits, and spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. In the mouth, the rum is smooth, silky and complex, with notes of caramel, chocolate, dried fruit and sweet wood. The finish is long and persistent, with an aftertaste of caramel and spices.
