Saint Aubin 1er Cru 2020 Domaine Joseph Drouhin
Domaine Joseph Drouhin's Saint Aubin 1er Cru is a fine white wine produced in the Côte de Beaune wine region of Burgundy in France.
The grapes used for production come from several Premier Cru vineyards in Saint Aubin, located in the hills above the village on limestone and clay soils. These soils, known for their high concentration of minerals, give the wine a remarkable freshness and minerality.
Domaine Joseph Drouhin follows a sustainable growing philosophy, with the goal of preserving soil and plant biodiversity. The grapes used to make Saint Aubin 1er Cru are 100% Chardonnay, a varietal known for its ability to express the characteristics of the terroir on which it grows.
Vinification is done in the traditional way, with soft pressing of the grapes and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel barrels. The wine is then matured in wooden barrels for a period of 12-15 months to achieve greater aromatic complexity.
Domaine Joseph Drouhin's Saint Aubin 1er Cru is straw yellow in color with greenish highlights. The nose reveals notes of citrus, white flowers, white-fleshed fruit and minerals. In the mouth it is fresh and savory, with good acidity and a long, mineral finish. This is an elegant and complex wine that pairs well with fish dishes, shellfish and fresh cheeses.
