Saint-Joseph Les Champs 2021 Domaine Dard et Ribo

Les Champs is one of the jewels of Domaine Dard et Ribo, situated on south-facing granite soil between the towns of Mauve and Tournon. This parcel produces pure Syrah from organic grapes, cultivated without the use of added sulfites and harvested manually following the principles of natural viticulture.

The Syrah vines thrive on hard granite soils, benefiting from the southern sun that provides optimal ripening. The granite soil imparts distinctive minerality and unique aromatic complexity to the wine, typical of the great wines of the region.

Domaine Dard et Ribo's philosophy is based on craftsmanship and the enhancement of fruit purity. Winemaking is natural, without additives, and takes place in open vats to preserve the characteristics of the grapes. After fermentation, the wine matures for 12-14 months in semi-new wooden barrels, imparting structural complexity and unparalleled elegance to the wine.

Les Champs presents itself with an intense ruby red color and offers an intriguing aromatic bouquet, with notes of raspberries, flowers, black pepper, and green bell pepper. On the palate, it is soft and enveloping, with pleasant freshness and tannins that make it balanced and harmonious. It is a gourmand and fruity wine that expresses all the power and elegance typical of Northern Rhône Syrah.

Dard & Ribo is a company formed by two friends Jean Rene Dard and Francois Ribo in the early 80's. Starting from a single hectare of land in the village of Mercul, the two, year after year and vintage after vintage, have established themselves in the world wine scene as excellence in Rhone wines. Already from the first harvest the two have embraced the philosophy of natural wines, spontaneous fermentations, no addition of sulphur dioxide, no temperature control and no chemical intervention in the vineyard. Natural wines that enhance the peculiarities of a unique terroir like the Rhone.
