Saint-Véran Vielles Vignes “Les Pommards” 2017 Robert Denogent
Saint-Véran Vielles Vignes "Les Pommards" 2017 is a fine wine from Domaine Robert Denogent, produced with natural methods with no added sulphites. It is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from 30-year-old vines that come from a single parcel of about 0.5 hectares in the Mâconnais region, south of Burgundy. Here the soil is rich in limestone and offers great elegance and minerality to this wine, which undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in third and fourth passage wooden barrels, for a subsequent aging of 18 months in French oak barriques and a few months bottled. In the glass, the Saint-Véran Vielles Vignes "Les Pommards" shows a bright straw yellow color; the nose expresses floral, citrus and aromatic herbs hints, up to notes of dried fruit. In the mouth it is fruity and pleasantly savory, with a long refreshing finish.
