Sancerre Monts Damnés 2018 Gérard Boulay
Sancerre Monts Damnés 2018 is a fine white wine from the Loire Valley produced by Gérard Boulay.
It is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes from 40-year-old vines located in the central and most renowned plot of this famous hillside. The vineyards in this area grow on steep slopes that are difficult to reach and prevent mechanical work, and grow on a unique terroir of chalky limestone on Kimmeridgian soil and marl.
Few producers are able to give a unique interpretation of the terroir, resulting in oenological performances that stand out for excellence; one of these is Gerard Boulay.
The Sancerre Monts Damnés 2018 ferments and vinifies in wood. It expresses itself in the glass with a luminous straw yellow colour. The nose is intense and opens with a hint of exotic fruit, which is then enriched with floral, briny and iodine notes on the finish. The sip is full, creamy, pungent and mineral.
