Saumur Blanc Clos de Guichaux 2021 is a fine French wine produced by Domaine Guiberteau, worked according to organic farming methods. It is made from Chenin Blanc, the protagonist grape of the Saumur region in the Loire Valley, France. In particular, the grapes come from a single plot, Clos de Guichaux, located in Bizay, whose soils are composed of silt and sand on a soft and smooth limestone bed.
Harvesting is done manually, after which the bunches are brought to the cellar where slow pressing is applied. The must obtained ferments spontaneously with only indigenous yeasts and is aged in French oak barrels for 2-4 years for nine months. Saumur Blanc Clos de Guichaux is a deep and mineral wine, with an intense nose of citrus and ripe white fruit, and toasted notes deriving from long aging in cask.
In the mouth it is full and persistent with a beautiful freshness and a mineral finish. It has an aging potential of 10 years or maybe longer. and complex, which reflects the quality obtained from the magnificent Saumur vineyards.
