Slatnik Magnum 2019 Radikon
Slatnik Magnum 2019 is a natural wine from Friuli Venezia Giulia produced by Radikon. It is a rich, full-bodied Friulian white wine that macerates for up to 15 days and ages in oak barrels for 18 months. It is made from a blend of mostly Chardonnay and a small amount of Friulano, a historic indigenous Friuli grape variety that has always been used in blends to give wines structure and longevity.
The grapes are harvested strictly by hand, and the must then ferments spontaneously using only indigenous yeasts in truncated oak vats, where it macerates on the skins for about two weeks. Refinement takes place in 25-35 hl oak casks for about 18 months, followed by two months of bottle ageing.
The Slatnik wine shows in the glass a golden straw yellow colour with amber reflections, the bouquet is rich and complex where fresh citrus and candied fruit aromas alternate with buttery and white chocolate notes on a floral background. The taste is well balanced by the fatness of the Chardonnay and the freshness conferred by the Friulano.
