Susucaru Rosso 2020 Cornelissen
The Rosso "Susucaru" 2020 is a fine Sicilian wine produced by the talented and charismatic Frank Cornelissen. It is made from an almost total percentage of Nerello Mascalese grapes with the presence of small percentages of other indigenous varieties such as Minella Nera, Alicante, Bouschet, Nerello Cappuccio and Minella Bianco, all of which come from old vines that are about 50 years old and located on the northern side of Etna, at an altitude of about 600 metres.
Organic farming principles are adopted both in the vineyard, where no chemical or synthetic substances or treatments of any kind are used, and in the cellar, where spontaneous alcoholic fermentation is carried out in fibreglass tanks, with several months' refinement in the same.
Cornelissen's "Susucaru" is a beautiful, intense and lively ruby red colour with purple highlights. The nose expresses a variegated and fragrant bouquet composed of red fruits such as raspberry, clove, rosehip, black pepper, citrus peel, for a lively but at the same time structured sip.
