The Syrah 2021 by Stefano Amerighi is a remarkable expression of the Syrah grape, cultivated in the hills of Cortona using biodynamic methods. This wine embodies the perfect blend of tradition and innovation, combining ancient techniques with a modern, sustainable approach to viticulture. The meticulous care of the vineyards and the production philosophy in the cellar reflect Amerighi's commitment to an agriculture that respects the soil and the environment.
The grapes, carefully selected and hand-harvested, are foot-crushed and spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement vats. The wine undergoes no filtration or clarification, preserving its integrity and purity. It is aged for at least 24 months, with 70% in small wooden barrels and 30% in cement, giving the wine a unique complexity and depth.
Visually, Amerighi's Syrah presents an intense, impenetrable ruby red color. On the nose, it is a true kaleidoscope of aromas: black pepper, tobacco, blueberry, and graphite blend in a gradual and cohesive expression. On the palate, the wine is intense and flavorful, with a well-defined tannic structure and a caressing tactility that never becomes complacent. The wine's balance is that of a champion, capable of improving with time and offering surprises even after years.
