The Taurasi "Radici" 2011 by Mastroberardino stands as one of the finest expressions of the Aglianico grape and the Taurasi appellation. This full-bodied and structured red wine, aged for 24 months in oak barrels, embodies the tradition and excellence of Campanian winemaking. Its complex bouquet reveals notes of cherry, wild berries, plum, and floral hints of violet, enriched by nuances of tobacco, black pepper, and thyme. On the palate, it is rich and enveloping, with an elegant structure that balances Mediterranean freshness with aromatic intensity, culminating in a long, persistent finish.
The 100% Aglianico grapes are sourced from the prestigious vineyards of Montemarano and Mirabella Eclano, situated at altitudes of 500-650 meters on clay and sandy soils. The significant diurnal temperature variations and marine breezes from the Tyrrhenian Sea ensure a slow and optimal ripening of the grapes, harvested in November. Traditional winemaking and extended aging give Radici a unique profile, deeply connected to the Irpinian terroir and its historical heritage.
