Tavel 2019 Domaine L'Anglore
Tavel 2019 is a rosé wine produced using natural methods by Domaine L'Anglore. It is a blend of predominantly Grenache and Cinsault grapes, plus a small percentage of Carignan and Clairette, from 60-year-old vineyards on sandy soils. The winery follows organic viticulture principles without added sulphites and with spontaneous fermentation using only indigenous yeasts. In the case of this label, the grapes are placed in carbonic maceration for 10 days then refined on fine lees.
The Tavel appellation is located in the Vallée du Rhone, more precisely in the Rhone River area between Chateauneuf du Pape and Avignon. All the wines produced under this appellation are rosés, including Eric Pfifferling's 'Tavel', a superb interpretation of rosé wine from the area.
Floral scents prevail on the nose, which then give way to fresh, crisp fruit and generous spicy notes. If on the nose the wine is faithful to the rosés of the south of France, the sip surprises with great finesse and elegance: an exceptional rosé, this Tavel from Domaine L'Algole!
