Vin de France "Tracassier" Domaine Mouressipe
The Vin de France "Tracassier" from Domaine Mouressipe is a true wine gem that embodies the joy and vitality of the land. The name itself evokes a certain cheerfulness, suggesting a lively and somewhat mischievous personality, ready to delight with every sip.
This extraordinary wine is the result of the passionate work of Alain Allier, a former mechanic who embraced winemaking inspired by the wines of Eric Pfifferling from the renowned Domaine de l’Anglore. Domaine Mouressipe, located in the picturesque Gard region, in St Cosmes and Maruéjols, is a 13-hectare oasis where Grenache reigns supreme. Here, Alain cultivates his vines with love and dedication, prioritizing quality and respect for the environment.
The grapes that give life to "Tracassier" come from the Mouressipe hill, particularly from the plot named "Carlong," a small plot of land of less than a hectare where the vines, some of which are over twenty years old, draw nourishment and unique character from the surrounding terroir.
The winemaking process is a true act of love for nature and tradition. After meticulous and respectful harvesting of the grapes' maturity, they undergo a delicate cold pre-fermentation, followed by destemming and maceration in tanks for about twelve days. Here, the magic begins: a natural winemaking process, without any additives, allowing the purity of the fruit to fully express itself.
After the careful winemaking phase, the wine undergoes an eight-month aging period in tanks, during which it acquires complexity and harmony before being bottled without any clarification, filtration, or addition of sulfites.
The result is a wine that enchants the senses and satisfies the soul. On the nose, it opens with inviting notes of licorice, anticipating an explosion of fruit on the palate that manifests with elegance and freshness. Its intensity is balanced by silky tannins and a lingering finish enriched with hints of forest fruits and Mediterranean scrubland.
"Tracassier" is more than just a wine; it's an experience, an invitation to immerse oneself in the beauty of nature and the passion of a winemaker. A bottle to be enjoyed with joy and without haste, perhaps in the company of friends and good food, to celebrate the wonder of authentic flavors.
