Valpolicella Superiore 2020 Musella
Valpolicella Superiore 2020 from the Musella winery represents the elegance and authenticity of Valpolicella. This red wine, made from vines grown according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, is aged for 12 months in oak barrels and concrete tanks. The Musella winery, located in San Martino Buon Albergo near Verona and run by the Pasqua family, produces this wine that perfectly embodies the local terroir.
The blend is composed mainly of Corvina and Corvinone grapes, which give the classic fruity notes, enriched by Rondinella and Barbera that add freshness and herbaceous accents. The vines, cultivated with the exclusive use of organic fertilizers such as Cornoletame and Cornosilice, produce concentrated fruit that faithfully expresses the characteristics of the terroir. The must, after destemming, macerates on the skins for 12-15 days at uncontrolled temperatures, with periodic pumping over. Subsequently, the wine matures for 6 months in large oak barrels and a further 6 months in concrete tanks, thus achieving purity and depth.
To the eye, Valpolicella Superiore 2020 shows a deep ruby red color, enriched with violet hues. Fruity notes of cherry, currant and cassis initially emerge on the nose, followed by herbaceous hints such as green almond and white pepper. On the palate, the wine surprises with its freshness and minerality, supported by a medium body and good intensity. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a pleasant fruity impression.
