Description

Valtellina Superiore Sassella 2017 Rainoldi

Valtellina Superiore Sassella 2017 is a red wine from Valtellina, Lombardy produced by the Rainoldi winery. It is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes that come from vineyards located in the municipalities of Castione Andevenno and Sondrio. The grapes are harvested by hand, and after a slow maceration at controlled temperature, the fermentation takes place in steel tanks and finally the wine matures in barrique for about 6 months. This Valtellina Superiore Sassella 2017 is characterised by a ruby red colour that is not particularly intense, a typical colour of Nebbiolo. The nose expresses a delicate bouquet in which aromas of fruit and dried flowers are perceived, together with spicy notes. The sip is elegant, balanced and persistent.

RAINOLDI

The Rainoldi company is a winery in the Valtellina region of Lombardy, and produces a range of highly characteristic and territorial wines made from Nebbiolo grapes. A kind of heroic viticulture is practised here because the vineyards are perched on the slopes of the mountains, on typical terraces of dry stone walls.
