Sassella Valtellina Superiore Nebbiolo 2019 Rainoldi
Valtellina Superiore Sassella 2019 is a red wine from Valtellina, in Lombardy, produced by the Rainoldi winery. It is made from 100% Nebbiolo from vineyards located in the municipalities of Castione Andevenno and Sondrio, and is a faithful version of Nebbiolo from the upper Piedmont area, characterised by those characteristic blood and mineral notes conferred by the terroir of the area.
The grapes are harvested by hand, and after a slow maceration at a controlled temperature, fermentation takes place in steel vats and finally the wine matures in barriques for about 6 months. The Valtellina Superiore Sassella 2019 shows a not particularly intense ruby red colour, a typical characteristic of this grape variety. The nose expresses a delicate bouquet in which aromas of fruit and dried flowers are perceived, together with spicy, mineral and haematic notes. The sip is elegant, balanced and persistent, with a savoury finish.
