"Taillemouche" Vin de France Rouge Julien Delrieu
The Loire red wine 'Taillemouche' is the grand cuvée produced by Julien Delrieu: it is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from 40-year-old vines growing on shale soils in the Anjou area.
Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, the wine does not see any chemicals in vinification and ageing is carried out in vats for about a year. "Taillemouche" is a very interesting and mature red wine, produced with very low yields and a faithful exponent of the black schist terroir of Anjou.
The Vin de France Rouge 'Taillemouche' expresses an intense ruby red colour to the eye with an aromatic profile of black fruits such as blackcurrants, dried grass and mineral and smoky notes, a gift of the soil. On the palate, the taste is fleshy and mouth-watering with an explosion of red fruit, with good balance and silky tannin, and a very long finish with bloody accents. A wonderful, special wine, a demonstration of Julien Delrieu's talent.
