Vin de Savoie Force of Nature 2020 Corentin Houillon
Producers like Corentin Houillon can be counted on the fingers of one hand: after growing up among Pierre Overnoy's vineyards in the Jura, he decided to establish his Domaine in Chautagne in Savoie. In the Domaine's 5 hectares of vineyards, Corentin cultivates all the native vines using biodynamic methods, including Altesse (in 1.5 hectares), the grape from which the 'Force de Nature' label is made, from a plot of Quaternary glacial molasses on a steep slope and limestone jets.
It is fermented in barriques, matured and revived on its own fermentation lees until bottling, which takes place without the use of sulphur dioxide. Corentin Houillon's 'Force de Nature' 2020 Vin De Savoie has an intense straw yellow colour (the wine is not filtered), while the nose offers fresh notes of citrus fruits, white flowers and mineral salts. The sip is supported by an energetic freshness and balanced acidity.
