Volnay 1er Cru Les Champans 2019 is a fine Burgundy wine produced by Domaine Joseph Voillot. It is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from old Volvay vineyards that are around 50 years old. This bottle perfectly reflects the company philosophy of Domaine Voillot, which aims to obtain a simple and pleasant wine, born to be drunk with family or friends. Its classic-style labels express an elegant personality that lets the terroir of origin shine through. This Volnay 1er Cru Les Champans 2019 ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers, then matures in 228-litre barrels, 40% of which are new, for 18 months with blending before bottling for two months. Bright ruby red in colour, it expresses on the nose a complex bouquet of red and black cherries, cocoa, aromas of meat and earth and spicy notes. In the mouth, the wine is rich and structured, with fine-grained tannins and a long, balanced, classy finish.
