Volnay 1er Cru Les Fremiets 2016 Domaine Joseph Voillot
Volnay 1er Cru Les Fremiets is a fine wine from Burgundy produced by Domaine Voillot. Pinot Noir grapes come from very old vines which were planted in 1932, 1950 and 1978 in Volnay. This elegant Burgundy wine expresses the great delicacy of Volnay, combined with the silky fullness of the 2016 vintage. The work in the vineyard and in the cellar follows a classic style and very careful to respect the terroir, the vineyard is worked two to three times a year, while in the cellar the winemaking is traditional, separately parcel by parcel, with indigenous yeasts and pigeages (punching the cap of skins and seeds). Maturation lasts between 16-18 months in casks (about 25% of new wood). Domaine Joseph Voillot is particularly renowned for producing wines with a perfect finesse and balance, such as the case of this Volnay 1er Cru Les Fremiets which expresses aromas of ripe fruit (cherry) on the nose with hints of pepper and licorice. Seductive and pure in the mouth with abundant and fine tannins, juicy texture and a nice fruity finish.
