Vin de France "Noveau Nez" Magnum Romain Le Bars
Noveau Nez from Romain Le Bars is made from a cuvée composed of 50% Grenache and 50% Cinsault, perfect for immediate enjoyment. The vinification is carried out through carbonic maceration, direct pressing and then ageing in oak barrels of several years, without the addition of sulphites. The result is a fresh wine with hints of red fruits and light, fresh fruit aromas.
Romain adopts a philosophy of low yields, manual harvesting and minimal intervention in the cellar (with a small amount of SO2). This is the essence of Romain's wines, which reflect the Pfifferling style. The whole-grape vinification takes place in carbonic maceration, in which the grape bunches are placed in an inert tank allowing fermentation to start inside the intact berries, sometimes with the addition of a thin layer of CO2 gas on top of the tank to prevent oxygen from entering.
The Romain le Bars Nouveau Nez has a nose with notes of blackberry, redcurrant and blueberry, and hints of peony. In the mouth, the wine has a well-balanced structure and freshness, with controlled acidity, making it a glouglou wine, i.e. very drinkable and enjoyable. Vigneron Romain devotes himself entirely to his domain, which he has recently expanded to 10 hectares, diversifying the grape varieties grown. He has also abandoned his garage to carry out vinification in a 200 square metre cellar. The future looks promising for Romain's wine, whose name may soon become synonymous with the great wines of the Tavel region.
