Pousse Cailloux 2023 by Romain Le Bars captures the essence of the Southern Rhône with its blend of Grenache and Syrah, sourced from over 40-year-old vines growing on sandy and pebbly soils.
The winemaking process includes a 10-day carbonic maceration with whole clusters, followed by 8 months of aging—70% in vats and 30% in multi-use barrels. This method preserves the wine’s pure and vibrant character, with no fining or filtration, and only a microdose of sulfur added before bottling.
On the nose, lush raspberries and wild strawberries dominate, while the palate offers a beautifully wide and fluid texture, perfectly balanced between roundness and bright acidity. A refreshing, highly drinkable wine, ideal for an aperitif with friends or paired with beef carpaccio and spaghetti Bolognese.
